Apr 8 NORTH SYDNEY- Group Guided Walk - PT  
  A Group Guided Walk (GW) using our Permanent Trail (PT) in North Sydney available to all members and non-members.

Apr 22 Leitches Creek/Johnson Lake  
  A guided walk along a trail in Leitches Creek and surrounding area.

LOCATION OF START POINT: The top of the ramp/Exit 3 off Hwy 125 and Hwy 223. Park on the trail/road that is used as a car pool parking lot

  CVF National Walking Weekend(Presidents Challenge)

LOCATION OF START POINT:  From Hwy 105, take Exit 5 to Mabou( 29 km), left on Rte 19 to Mabou and turn right at sign for Mabou Harbour. 1213 Coal Mines Rd., B0E-1X0 (this the PC of the nearest address). Please watch for and follow the  CBIH signs to the Starting Point.

Jun 15 - 16 LOUISBOURG TWO (2) WALK EVENTS  
  TWO (2) WALK EVENTS:

THIRD ANNUAL "ROOTS TO BOOTS FESTIVAL"

- A weekend festival taking place in the Communities of Louisbourg and Cheticamp from the 15 - 17 June 2018. The festival offers a unique blend of walks, storytelling, food experiences, local flavour concerts and late night square dances.

The Cape Breton Island Hoppers have been invited to partner with Fortress Louisbourg Association and Parks Canada to provide a special walking program that will include Fortress Louisbourg and the Lighthouse Coastal Trail.

The walk events for this year will  be CVF/IVV sanctioned

CBIH has designated the normal 5 and 10k walk routes however, participants may walk more or less as they are inclined to do so.

CBIH will provide walk leaders and sweeps and all club members who attend are encouraged to assist the many novice walkers we hope to attract to these events.

TWO (2) WALK EVENTS:


1. Friday, 15 June, 2018 (first day)

The Start Point for the first Walk Event is 561 Havenside Road, Louisbourg Lighthouse parking lot
Walk begins at the Lighthouse parking lot and continues on to the Coastal Tail
Participants may walk more or less as they are inclined to do so.

From Sydney follow Hwy 22 to Louisbourg, a short distance from the Louisbourg S&L Railroad Museum turn left on to Havenside Road and continue to the Start Point at the light house parking area.

2. Saturday, 16 June 2018 (second day)

Directions to Start Point:
From Sydney follow Hwy 22 to Louisbourg and continue on Main Street, turn left on Wolfe Street and straight onto Kennington Cove Road. The "Old Town Trail" is on the left side of the road however the parking lot for the trail and our Start Point is directly across the street on the right side.
Will include the "Old Town Trail" and a stroll into Fortress Louisbourg and "The Ruins Walk".

Jun 24 CBIH TRAILS DAY

This is a Full one day personal challenge event, for Fun and Fitness.

Participants can do a total of 4 trails in one day for a grand total of 20ks.
Or:
do a minimum of 5, 10,15ks, selecting one or more trails.

ALL PARTICPANTS MUST REGISTER AT THE START POINT BY 08:30 HRS (AM)
A CBIH START CARD will be provided at the first registration point.

A Walk Leader will be available at all the trails for todays event However, Once you are registered for the event, you and a walking partner may begin the event immediately, you do not have to wait for the walk leader.

This is also a good opportunity to form car pool groups to help eliminate  large numbers of cars travelling to the other trail heads where parking is limited.

10:15am Meet-up:  565 Terrace St., Sherwood Park School - the soccer field at the end of Terrace  Street
10:30am Group Guided Walk - Baille Ard Nature Trail - Distance 5km - 1B
11:30 - 1:00 - Lunch and/ or picnic
[3] The Sand Bar East Bay
 1:00pm Meet-up: 3944 East Bay/Chapel Rd.
1:15pm Group Guided Walk - Walk the sandbar on Chapel Rd. 5km

Christmas Lights Walk Event

Carry a flashlight, dress warm and wear reflective style clothing, ice grippers may be of some help as well!
